I found this rock on a beach on the Isle of Wight. In some big rocks they had bones in them like the one on pictures 4 and 5. Nearby on the ground I found the rock on pictures 1, 2 and 3. If it is a fossil bone please help identify!
Thanks

Hello Thomas,

I think this is just a rounded and weathered flint nodule. You can see the blue flint coming through the hard chalk that surrounds it at some places. On this LINK you can see the black flint to the right of the image where it has recently been broken. More to the left you can see colours that look like your specimen.

Greetings,
Bram

Hello mate ime sorry i didnt reply heres some pics of the preserved organic material from one of the possible lake sediment layers. ps this stuff was found deep in the clay its not modern acumalations. Heath. ps again i do believe your rock has organic fossils in it.but ime not the man to tell you how best to get to them.

I see. I don't really know what the past fossils have been. But I don't know what it could be. I am begining to forget what it was like. It was so long ago.
